You've been busy Claw! I need to find time to read all of this.

I have a different take on some of the skills than meneer but perhaps a separate thread is more appropriate for debate on the relative merit of the paragon's skills? Let us know whether you want your Basics thread cluttered or not Claw.

I agree. While I think Meneer's post is insightful and helpful, I do not want this thread to become a subjective argument about skills. I have redirected his post to it's own thread here:

http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...27#post2809227

...feel free to continue to post in this thread with comments/questions about the guide/paragons. I will remain open minded to criticism as well.

Great work. Didn't have time to read it all but will eventually.

In the splinter P/Rt build, I'd take [skill=text]Blazing Finale[/skill] over [skill=text]Merciless Spear[/skill]. Toss BF on a melee or two and since you'll be spamming [skill=text]"Go For The Eyes!"[/skill] every 2.25s while under [skill=text]Focused Anger[/skill], you'll be making good use of the AoE burning from BF.

I'd recommed [skill=text]Warmonger's Weapon[/skill] over the [skill=text]Wieldier's strike[/skill]since it allows you to effectively shutdown a caster with [skill=text]Aggressive Refrain[/skill] up.

I'd also consider [skill=text]Nightmare Weapon[/skill] instead of [skill=text]Leader's Comfort[/skill] for the armor ignoring damage against high level enemies and it can be used to heal attacking allies too. You're going to have little trouble with energy due to GFTE! spamming anyway.

In that same build, of splinter weapon, you say: "the +damage is physical in type" but iirc splinter weapon dmg is armor ignoring.

Edit: Glad to see that you're the mod over here instead of that silly foo... oh, hey Skuld

As a pretty new player to the paragon (well i did complete C3 but i played it way less then my other classes) and actually all physical attackers - i wondered - why is [skill]Flail[/skill] preferred over [skill]Frenzy[/skill] - especially on a paragon which seems to be the perfect choice for it since its ranged?
PvE only.

Superb guide though!

Upier,

The ias is purely preference. Flail works well imo because the paragon (being ranged) does not suffer as much from the decreased speed and you don't need to bring a cancel stance because of the short duration. But like I said... pure preference.

Very good guide. Thanks for creating it.

One note, the link to the Blazing Hunter discussion thread didn't work for me. Not sure why not though.

Probably because its pretty old.. feel free to discuss any builds here... Some of them are crap I know... while others (like the Blazing hunter) are some of my favourites.

Great guide. I just wanted to point out that you claim all Chants have a 1 second casting time. Song of Concentration, just as an example, is 2 seconds. I know there are others.

Default Awesome Guide!!!!!

I will revisit playing my paragon now. Have not played him since a week after NF came out.
Looking forward for your other guides especially the one for Assasin!!

Thanks,
